Get rewarded with Jozibucks when you shop local and #SupportJozi
Caitlin15 Mar, 2021
Airbnb’s Support Jozi, Shop Local campaign will inject over R500 000 worth of vouchers into small businesses to give them a boost. During the campaign, when people pay over R100 with SnapScan at participating businesses (just look for the Jozibucks pin to see who’s taking part) they’ll get back a R75 Jozibucks voucher that can be spent at other businesses in the Jozibucks ecosystem.
Last year, Airbnb’s host community in Johannesburg recommended their favourite local spots, which were then compiled to create this beautiful map of must-visit Jozi spots:
A delightful variety of businesses are taking part in the cashback initiative. Restaurants include Little Addis, a cozy Ethiopian restaurant located in 44 Stanley, Croft & Co, a bustling coffee shop with scrumptious food in Park View, and Home of the Bean, a vibrant coffee spot in Maboneng. The Bioscope, Jozi’s iconic independent cinema, is also taking part. Joining them are Bridge Books, Danger Gevaar Ingozi Studio, and Pulp Paperworks. You’ll even be rewarded for catching the latest looks with Dr Pachanga and Hannah Lavery. The campaign not only supports small businesses, but also rewards customers for shopping locally, and encourages them to pay it forward to discover other amazing establishments. For the full list of participating businesses, look for the Jozibucks pin on the map.
Here’s how it works:
- Download the free SnapScan app
- Spend R100 or more at participating businesses
- Get a R75 Jozibucks voucher loaded to the wallet section of your SnapScan app
- Use your voucher at other businesses that are taking part. After scanning the SnapCode, you’ll see a ‘Pay with wallet’ option on the pay screen. Click that to select your Jozibucks voucher.
While you can only earn one Jozibucks voucher from a business at a time, they will accumulate and don’t need to be spent in one go. For example, Jozibucks could be spent one coffee at a time.
SnapScan is all about the relationship that exists between businesses and their customers. We make it easy and safe for people to pay and get paid. We’re so excited about this campaign because it is based on the sense of community that is entwined in SnapScan’s story. Airbnb’s host community has recommended some phenomenal establishments, and we can’t wait for people to get snapping!
Update: This campaign has ended. Give us a follow us on Instagram to get notified about future campaigns and discover more amazing businesses that accept SnapScan.
